August 9, 2016 -- EPF Solar Finance has received notification that 23 MW of Community Solar Gardens it helped arrange with a financing partner is through the Xcel review process. Construction should start in various stages during Fall 2016 and early 2017.
June 30, 2016 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved 171 kw totaling $672K during the Second quarter 2016 and funded 165 kw totaling $563K during the Second quarter 2016.
March 31, 2016 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved 159 kw totaling $558K during the First quarter 2016 and funded 526 kw totaling $1.70 Million during the First quarter 2016.
December 31, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved 209 kw totaling $691K during the fourth quarter 2015 and funded 265 kw totaling $844K during the fourth quarter 2015.
December 31, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved nearly 1.5 MW’s during 2015, with the approved/funding totaling $4,750 Million. Projects average size was 39 Kw. Additionally, there are numerous projects in the pipeline that will be built in 2016 and beyond.
December 31, 2015 -- Congress passed the 2015 tax extender bill in which should be a boon for the solar industry, and all industry in general. It extended the ITC until 2022 and made permanent the Section 179 accelerated depreciation. The bill increased the Section 179 depreciation schedule to $500K during each calendar year from its previous $25K for any equipment purchase.
September 30, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved 926 kw totaling $3.044 Million during the third quarter 2015 and funded 168 kw totaling $548K during the third quarter 2015.
June 30, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved 321 kw totaling $1.30 Million during the first/second quarter and funded 242 kw totaling $869K during the first/second quarter 2015.
June 25, 2015 -- Mn Public Utility Commission, Xcel Energy, and Community Solar Garden developers have jointly agreed to limit Community Solar Garden sizing back to its original 1 MW intent. The agreement does allow projects that were already in the queue and those filed by September 25 to still co-locate up to 5 MW per site. After September 25, any site may not be greater than 1 MW. This will help Xcel manage better its generation network, and for local developers to compete fairly against the bigger players in the industry and subsequently creates jobs for MN.
May 1, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner has completed the negotiations to provide portfolio financing for Community Solar Gardens. We can provide developer’s their capital needs to utilities for the required deposits, and the ability to leverage with other developers if desired to share resources.
March 31, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance and its partner approved/funded in March solar financing totaling $283,000 for various projects located throughout Minnesota, with a portfolio of additional projects ready for installation.
March 5, 2015 -- Energy Pace Finance and its partner has expanded its solar financing/development services into Iowa. The first approved projects will be built this Summer.
March 1, 2015 -- EPF Solar Finance is now the branding/corporate name for Energy Pace Finance to reflect its historical focus arranging necessary capital to finance solar projects.
December 17, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has helped arrange during the first year of the Made In MN program in excess of 500kw of solar financing/equity with several additional Megawatts in pipeline for 2015 and beyond. Business owners have started to capitalize on the MN solar programs that is proving to be a successful program for the growth of renewable energy in MN.
December 1, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance is excited to be able to use its connections to facilitate tax equity and financing for Community Garden programs. The Community Garden program, which will be administered by solar companies, will help businesses and homeowners reduce electricity costs without having to purchase their own solar panels. They will agree to purchase their electricity from solar projects installed at several offsite locations in MN at a discount to current pricing.
November 25, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has signed an agreement to help design a finance program for a series of solar projects that is unique to Minnesota.
November 24, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has received a financing term sheet for a $4 Million Dollar project located in Wisconsin. Project likely to be started First Quarter 2015.
October 2, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has approved energy efficiency projects for C-Stores located in various locations in Wisconsin.
September 25, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance and Jordan Seeds has completed a loan using Pace Finance and Trillion BTU programs to facilitate a 40kw solar project in Woodbury MN, adding to the types of loans that customers can access through Energy Pace Finance for their energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.
August 22, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has entered into an agreement to facilitate Pace financing for a $250,000 energy efficiency project.
August 22, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance entered into an agreement to arrange for leasing of $1,000,000 of residential solar projects to be installed in 2014. The Minnesota market has a state backed program for residential projects to help lower the risk to financial sources.
August 5, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has entered into an agreement to facilitate Pace financing for a $2.5 mill energy efficiency upgrade for a hotel.
July 9, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance has structured a transaction that takes advantage of Solar financing and Pace financing in one complete package. The combination will prove to be a important part of the business for commercial/agricultural entities wanting to own their own solar facility.
June 20, 2014 -- 6/14 Energy Pace Finance is assisting the sale/refinance of a large solar facility as part of our services.
June 11, 2014 -- 6/14 Energy Pace Finance has received additional contracts to finance solar projects for various government, non-profits, and commercial buildings.
May 12, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance is under contract to complete a national lease/finance program for a vendor located in IA. The objective is to handle over the course of the year in excess of $2 Million in energy efficiency upgrades for commercial buildings.
May 7, 2014 -- Senate Finance Committee and previously the House has approved the tax extender bill with bipartisan support and very likely to become law. The bill includes the 179D program which is designed to incentivize property owners to initiate energy efficiency upgrades. For the upgrades, the property owner receives an accelerated depreciation of up to $1.80 per square foot of the building, the balance to be depreciated is then on its regular schedule.
April 1, 2014 -- Energy Pace Finance will be announcing soon what is likely the first Pace project in WI as it expands its reach across the nation. This was achieved through a competitive bid process with Energy Pace Finance being substantially lower than the competitors. The program offers many benefits as customers look for ways to drive down energy costs.
February 1, 2014 -- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) claims 7 gallons of water on average is used for each kwh of energy produced, amount varying based on type of energy source; coal, nuclear, and natural gas being much higher with little impact using renewable energy. This will have an effect on building operating costs as the dwindling water supplies from droughts, water diversion, and population growth drives up costs. EPA claims “Drinking water and waste water systems account for approximately 3-4 percent of all energy use in the United States and that energy as a percent of municipal operating costs can reach as high as 40 percent”.
January 7, 2014 -- Construction loans have been added to the types of financing available through Energy Pace Finance programs. Qualification does require a financial source to be ready to take out the financing when project is commissioned.
November 15, 2013 -- American Architects Association Minnesota held its annual conference in Minneapolis, MN. They had hundred+ exhibitors showcasing various sustainability capabilities to enhance buildings design while incorporating energy efficiency upgrades to create additional value for the building.
November 4, 2013 -- Minneapolis StarTribune reported that Xcel Energy has asked for its largest-ever Minnesota electric rate increase, proposing a 4.6% increase in January 2014, followed by a 5.6% increase in January 2015, with additional increases likely for 2016 to 2018. This is part of long term utility rate increase plan that is forcing property owners to get their electric usage under control.
October 11, 2013 -- MN Project sponsored an informative seminar in Willmar, MN for the Poultry industry on LED lighting dynamics, their effectiveness, and how it can be used to substantially reduce operating expenses. Pace Financing and the agricultural industry are an excellent fit to implement financing for energy efficiency upgrades.
October 2, 2013 -- MN ASHRAE conference was successfully held in St Paul, MN.
September 25, 2013 -- Energy Pace in addition to its Pace Financing program will provide Loans and Leases for energy efficiency financing programs. The expanded services will be to accommodate commercial and industrial property owners needs for additional options.
September 15, 2013 -- Energy Pace has increased its access to tax equity for renewable energy projects. The typical structure will be for the equity provider to derive most of the tax benefits for first 6 years, then convert ownership back to the building owner at minimal cost.
September 13, 2013 -- Centerpoint filed for a 5% increase rate increase. Centerpoint projects that they will need similar annual increases for next several years to upgrade their pipelines. This is causing additional concerns by energy users on how to control their future energy needs.
August 23, 2013 -- St. Paul Port Authority announced that it has started to implement a $10 Million PACE Financing program. The program will use private capital to fund projects for the commercial and industrial market with the Port providing the necessary bond. It will not require any capital to be used from the government to fund energy efficiency upgrades but will use the authorization to add the annual payment onto the tax assessments.
July 13, 2013 -- Pace Financing will be be offered through Energy Pace Finance using its existing resources from its sister company, WindPartners Finance. The official launch date will be September 31, 2013. Energy Pace will work alongside established Pace Finance company to provide financing for energy efficiency projects for commercial or industrial property. The program will provide owners a means to finance their energy efficiency project not to only decrease their energy costs but also increase the value of their property.
May 13, 2013 -- Ken Valley has started to prepare a Pace Financing program. Pace is an excellent method to finance energy efficiency projects for commercial property – solar, lighting, boilers, wind, or any other type of energy efficiency upgrade that can demonstrate costs savings for the owner. We will work with energy companies, developers, financial sources, building owners, etc to provide access to the financing.
